Land battles take weeks and months if the two sides are roughly equal. Moving ships, air and land units from the US to the Pacific is time consuming. The game seems to follow the technologies and limitations of the time very closely. The first turn can take HOURS to play because you have to form ships into task groups. Planes are in the game as are carriers but they are limited in range and ability. WPO is pretty much naval war prior to airpower. There is also a WWII simulation by the same authors I'll get one day. Its sold by a company called Matrix Games which has a bunch of simulation games. The game is called War Plan Orange: Dreadnoughts in the Pacific 1922-1930. Just wish they could update the photos more often. I really don't know how we lived prior to Google. No comparison between the Apple and this HP. My first PC was not a PC but a micro computer. Its a real nice system for $900 not including the monitor. She really had to twist my arm on the monitor. Which looks real good on a 24 inch LCD monitor the wifey talked me into buying. Memory is usually around 2GB maybe going to 3GB if I process photos. The CPU averages in the 50-75% usage range. The other night I was recording Good Eats, burning a DVD with three previously recorded episodes of Good Eats, had mulitple FireFoxes running AND I was fighting the Japanese over who would control the world from CA to India. Ended up with a HP Media Center with Quad Cores and 4GBs. It was time to upgrade the home system which we have been talking about for a few years and finally just did it.
